This famous annual event attracts visitors from all over. The European Market is known for the excellent shopping, live entertainment, and the feeling of community and tradition. The market is open for business every Saturday starting May 4th until October 26th in gorgeous downtown Chesterton. The hours are: 8am-2pm and it is free to attend!
This autumn festivals allows you to spend a weekend outdoors enjoying your family and friends. Indiana Dunes Outdoor Adventure Festival is packed with a variety of outdoor adventures. There is over 70 events in one weekend! This festival includes activities such as hiking, paddling, biking, geo-caching, photography, birding, yoga, and so more! Registration for is required using the website https://www.dunesoutdoorfestival.com and is Friday-Sunday, October 4-6, 2019. There is a $10 fee per adult and covers all three days. Children 17 and under are free!
Let’s see those costumes! On Friday, October 25, 2019, from 4pm – 6pm, Downtown Chesterton becomes a ghoulish sight, full of tricks and treats!
A fun-filled family event that brightens the day of some senior members of the Chesterton community. This free Fall Fest includes, bingo, a taco bar, entertainment, and activities like a caramel apple station, pumpkin painting, hay rides, and even a haunted house! Bring your costumes and a bag for treats on Thursday, October 24th from 4pm – 7pm with Trick or Treating beginning at 5pm.
Hi, Santa! Hometown Holiday Celebration welcomes the holiday season with carriage rides, retail open houses, a Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Twilight Christmas Parade, and, of course, Santa. The fun-filled family tradition takes place in Thomas Centennial Park and Downtown Chesterton. European market vendors will be set for you to buy your first holiday gifts and treat yourself to delicious food. Hometown Holiday Outdoor Market will run from 11:00am - 7:00pm on November 30th. The Tree Lighting Ceremony, near the Thomas Centennial Park gazebo, is at 5:00 pm and is followed by the Twilight Christmas Parade. After the parade, Santa will be in his house from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
